Other areas have reported individuals impersonating water utility employees, asking to test resident’s water pressure and requesting to enter homes. Augusta Water employees will NEVER ask to enter your residence or ask for money. Each employee has Augusta Water apparel and will be in an Augusta Water vehicle with "Local Government" tags. If you have any questions please contact Augusta Water Customer Service at 540-245-5681.

About SVWWTPN

One of the Pure Water Forum’s goals is to develop and implement effective education and outreach programs. As part of this effort, the Shenandoah Valley Wastewater Treatment Plant Network (SVWWPTN) was organized as a way to provide low cost training. This organization meets quarterly and gives the operators a chance to network with other utility operators as well as receive training credits.

The SVWWTPN started in September 2008 and topics are selected based on operator input and eligibility for training credits. All licensed wastewater treatment plant operators are required to have continuing education to maintain their certification. The number of hours of required training is dependent on the license which the operators hold.

A sample of topics in the past have included Nitrogen and Phosphorus Removal, BNR/ENR Process Control and Analyzers, Activated Sludge Troubleshooting, Microscopic Identification and Wastewater Testing, SCADA, I&I, and Basic Design of Control Valves.

The SVWWTPN training is open to everyone. Notices of the meetings are sent via e-mail and are included in the Virginia Water Monitoring Council (VWMC) announcements. If you would like to be on the distribution list for meeting notices, please e-mail Kim Armentrout @ karmentrout@augustawater.com.
